Balancing Heart Wedding Venue
Balancing Heart is a winery and wedding venue in the Granite Belt, and it has been one of my favourite places to visit for years.
For the last few years around October, we head to Girraween National Park for a camping trip with friends. Located a little past Stanthorpe, the area is surrounded by some of the most amazing scenery the Granite Belt has to offer, with water holes and so many great bush walks, including the climb up the Pyramids.
We spend the weekend bush walking, swimming, sitting around campfires and having fun. Not far from Girraween is our favourite winery, Balancing Heart. It has an awesome vibe, beautiful food and lovely wine. I was excited to see that Balancing Heart is now set up for weddings, with an open-air reception hall overlooking the vineyard. I took some film photos on a point-and-shoot camera of the venue and its features, and you can see those in the gallery below.
Making memories
We have so many good memories of sitting on the front lawn of Balancing Heart, sampling the wines, eating amazing pizzas and having fun. The kids would run around playing with the German shepherd (who is no longer there). There is a bit of a petting zoo now, with a couple of highland cows and sheep in the nearby yard.
If you visit Balancing Heart you have to try their wines. Our favourite is the campfire red (which you sadly can’t get anymore). They also do an amazing apple pie pizza with ice cream, always a table winner.
About the venue
Balancing Heart sits in the Granite Belt near Stanthorpe, roughly three hours from Brisbane and an easy drive from the Gold Coast. The open-air reception hall looks out over the vineyard, so your guests get those long views across the vines. Being wine and food country, it suits couples who want a relaxed day surrounded by nature, good food and great wine.
