Coolibah Downs Wedding with Lauren and Michael
Lauren and Michael’s Coolibah Downs wedding was super relaxed and fun (plenty of dance floor action). Nothing much fazed Lauren even when her dress got stains on it. (it cleaned off easily). Lauren was looking at the bigger picture of the day. She was getting to commit her entire life with Michael, to stand by him and to be supported by him in their marriage. Nothing else mattered except maybe having a good time.
The proposal
Michael and I met in Grade 10 though we didn’t start going out until after we finished High school.
The first thing I noticed about Michael was he was a genuine nice guy. Michael noticed how easy I was to talk to.
When he proposed I was thinking? OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD!!! Michael planned a secret date night, which was dinner at Mount Coot-tha. After dinner we wondered up to the top of the lookout. Out of nowhere there was a bright light of a camera on me and Michael bended down on one knee and proposed.

Our ceremony was in the picturesque Chapel of Coolibah Downs on the Gold Coast Hinterland. The reception was under the Marquee. Coolibah Downs is a beautiful estate. It has all the right elements walking around we knew it was where we wanted our wedding. We even moved up our wedding date by year to be able to have a wedding in spring as they were already booked.
My dress was from Ferrari Formal (an Allure Gown). I had tried on many dresses with all types of silhouettes and found that the full skirt just suited. What was a real surprise was the satin on the dress I had a vision of being in a all lace dress but as soon as I tried on the satin I fell in love.
Unique or funny moments from your wedding at Coolibah Downs
My family can be party animals and there were a couple of very enthusiastic dance moves that still make me laugh just thinking about it.
Any advice for future couples?
On the day leading up to your wedding and on your wedding day just take everything step by step don’t sweat the small stuff. If any problems arise there are always solutions just keep calm.
