The Island Gold Coast Wedding Genevieve and Saxon
Our venue was the penthouse of The Island Gold Coast, a beautiful wedding venue in the heart of Surfers Paradise overlooking the ocean. We chose it because we loved that we could host the entirety of our wedding in one convenient location. The rooms needed such little work to match what we wanted as they were so elegant and beautiful to begin with.
We took inspiration from garden party style decor and pastel colouring to contrast the venue colours.
Was there any unique moments from your day at the Island Gold Coast
Our goal for the day was to keep things traditional and simple, both so our guests could just enjoy the day and so we could focus on each other and what the moment meant to us. Our most unique inclusion was a Zorba dance, a nod to Genevieve’s heritage. We didn’t have a specific favourite moment from the day, but rather we loved the day in its entirety as we worked hard to keep it a simple but dignified event where we could focus on our love and being surround by ones who mean so much to us.
Any advice for other couples ?
Start your planning by thinking about how you want you and your partner to feel on the day as well as what you want your guest’s experience to be like. We really tried to think about what we remembered from weddings we’ve been to previously and what landed up as important to us was a really good meal and a fun dance floor for our littlest and older guests alike. We also made an effort to spend as much time with each other through the night and took moments like our first dance and photos as opportunities to talk and really enjoy the moment.
