North Stradbroke Island Wedding Katya and Evan
Evan and Katya North Stradbroke Island Wedding
Evan turned to me excitedly, pointed south and said “On a clear day you can see Mount Warning from here”. Katya tells me, Evan says this every time they come to North Stradbroke Island. Either alone or with friends and every time it makes her smile. As we walked further around Point Lookout we notice a large sea turtle in the cove below coming up for air. This is just one of many magical moments on North Stradbroke Island. The stunning location for Evan and Katya’s wedding celebration
Love for North Stradbroke Island
Evan and Katya’s Stradbroke wedding, just like their relationship, was full of family and friends. And one day together would simply never be enough. The celebrations began therefore in the days leading up to the wedding at Stradbroke. With guests flying in from all over Australia and the globe. Guests had the luxury of the location. Quality time with the gorgeously in love couple to celebrate this life changing event.
Night before the Wedding
The wedding at North Stradbroke Island was quiet and relaxed. Away from the hustle and bustle of the mainland with beautiful beaches and breath taking sunsets.
The night before the wedding the 80 strong group gathered at the nearby park. Feasting on the iconic North Straddie fish and chips. As the sun dropped behind the trees and the light began to fade, the hum of the group continued. It was clear no one as in hurry for the night to end.
The morning of the wedding
The next morning Evan and the groomsmen head out for a surf. Followed by a hearty breakfast at the local cafe. In the meantime Katya herself gets up early. Heading out for a run to take in the island surroundings and prepare for the day ahead. They had rented two houses side by side. Staying close to each other whilst enjoying a wedding tradition.
I was like a kid back in school ferrying notes between the houses as the anticipation and excitement grew.
The ceremony
Time ticked by and guests began to make their way to the beach in time for the ceremony situated at the waters edge. The scene was set with the waves rolling in behind them as they wed. On either side great walls of rock looked down upon the driftwood style arbour and the vintage wooden chairs of their ceremony area.
Gracefully stepping onto the beach barefoot, Katya looked incredible in a stunning a Grace Loves Lace dress. Her wide smile contagious amongst the crowd as she stepped closer to her groom. Monty King the celebrant, a close friend of the couple took no time in welcoming guests. Inviting them to witness the magical moment of the marriage of Evan and Katya. The ceremony was full of love, laughs and personal advice from family and friends.
The wedding continued with copious amounts of fun, emotional speeches, tributes to those that couldn’t be there. Culminated with uninhibited and energetic dancing set to songs from a live band revealing the couples love for festivals and live music.
