Why We Chose Sharla Park for Our Wedding

Looking for a relaxed outdoor wedding venue where the ceremony and reception happen in one place? Sharla Park offers both, set against a beautiful waterside backdrop. Daneiren and Michael chose Sharla Park the moment they saw it. It was the only venue they looked at, and its rustic charm, open space and views of the water made it feel just right. With no theme and no dress code beyond “wear whatever you’re comfortable in,” their day was all about celebrating with the people they love.

We got married at an outdoor venue which could host the ceremony and the reception. We really didn’t want to travel from one to the other. It was actually the only venue we looked at and it really just clicked for us. We loved the rustic feel, the open space, the water.

No theme and we were pretty relaxed about everything, when people asked us what they should wear, our response was ‘whatever you’re comfortable in’

Our Favourite Moments From the Ceremony

Walking down the aisle was special, especially looking around and seeing everyone that was there to celebrate with us. Sharing our vows felt amazing. We also cut the cake as part of our ceremony which was then served with our canapes, I liked that and it worked well.

Wedding Planning Advice: Capture the Moments That Matter

My advice would be to sit down before hand and make note of things you think you will want photos or videos of. We wrote our own vows and practiced our first dance and didn’t get videos of either. I wish so much now that I had paid for the videographer. If you don’t want to do that, then give the job of filming special moments you will want to look back on to someone. Even taking a few photos on someone’s phone. We didn’t get photos together or of our children all dressed up on anyone’s phone. This means we have nothing until we get our photos back.
