Maree and Anthony’s winter wedding in New Zealand

The Canyon’, is nestled up in the hills of Bendigo in Central Otago in New Zealand. Picturesque 360 views of mountains to take in on a beautiful clear day. We picked this venue as the area has significant meaning to my childhood and Anthony had visions of snow capped mountains to make his day perfect.


Our theme was to capture the essence of the venue itself. Keeping everything as minimal as possible as to not distract from the actual surrounds. We had small ties to wood and marble to link in with Maree being in the tree industry and Anthony’s time as a stone mason.


Our favourite part was spending the alone time with our kids before the wedding in doing our ‘first look’ photos. It really helped us relax into the day before the hustle and bustle began with everyone around.


Advise to other couples : try spend as much time together on the day as possible. We tried to follow this too but it was so hard when getting distracted by thanking guests and having moments with them too. The day is for you two, stay together the whole time.
