Ben and I met at a bbq through friends. We were both quite young (17 & 19). Probably I noticed he was really fun, energetic and he says it was my eyes and that I was caring.
Ben proposed at the Stanford Plaza hotel. We went out for dinner and while we were gone the staff did up the room with rose petals, candles and champagne. He’s always been pretty good in the romance department. So I was pretty shocked when he got down on one knee.

My dress was from Strictly Bridal. And I chose it because it was comfortable, had a huge princess tulle skirt which was something I had always dreamed about. I felt like the best version of myself in it – and it made my Mum cry.
Our ceremony was in the chapel at Weddings at Tiffany’s in Maleny. It was perfect!
The reception took place in the reception hall at Weddings at Tiffany’s Maleny. We chose the venue as a whole because of the stunning setting and views from Maleny. Because the reception hall is this huge, gorgeous white and timber blank canvas which we could customise to the style and feel we wanted. Also from the first day we went there the staff bent over backwards. To make sure everything was easy, smooth and perfect.
Unique or funny moments at your wedding at Tiffanys
For Ben the funniest moment was definitely when our celebrant asked if he and the boys wanted a grand entrance into the chapel. And announced them one by one and created this big fan fare to get everyone going.
For me it was probably at the photos. Watching Adam probe everyone to answer hilarious questions about Ben and I. Encouraging a huge pile up in one particular photo where everyone just looks like they are having a fantastic time.
Advice for future couples
Don’t be pressured by other people’s ideas – even if they come from your parents or siblings. Take the ideas on board but ultimately don’t let people convince you that what they think is better than what you want.
People have always said to me that it’s the best day of your life and it goes by so fast. This is not an exaggeration. I genuinely don’t remember feeling happier or more loved. Than I did on my wedding day, and I also remember waking up the next morning and thinking “I can’t believe it’s over”. You really cannot prepare yourself for the flood of emotions. Or the fact that you feel like it can’t possibly have gone that fast.
