Kate and Chris’ Ascot Lodge wedding

The location of our wedding was on our family horse farm, surrounded between beautiful mountains and farm fields with a stunning gardens around the property. We chose this location because not only was it beautiful and had everything that I wanted, but as a teenager my Dad would joke with me and say that they would be able to save so much money because I could just get married in the backyard. This was before they bought the farm and we lived in a rainforest haha!  Being on a horse farm I guess we tried to lean into the boho horse farm vibe. 

Well one very unique moment was when we all sat down for the reception, one of my bridesmaids put their dried flower bouquet near an open flame and the whole thing went up in a flash hahaha! (Thank you Adam for jumping in and taking photos of the whole ordeal 😂😂) Our favourite moment though would have been when we got to take our couple photos and we were away from everyone and were able to spend a few moments out in the fields by ourselves. 

Make lots of lists if you’re doing the whole thing yourself!! Also I know everyone says it but do try to take some time to yourselves… the whole day goes insanely fast and if you don’t slow down to enjoy it, the night just disappears! Also be VERY careful with where you put candles and how many candles you use…. The bouquet wasn’t the only thing that went up in flames that night!
